Dear all, we had a lovely week. Thank you for organising another great trip. The hotel was beautiful and its location was perfect, right in the centre of Sorrento. Both trips went really well. Pompeii was really hot so doing the two hour tour early in the day was perfect. We did not see it all but our guide gave us a good flavour of what the town was like and took us to some of the best preserved dwellings. The boat trip was great. Our guide discussed the different ways we could structure the day. We decided to go up the coast to Amalfi first and then had a stop for an hour in Positano where we explored the town on our own. Unbeknown to us there was a problem with the boat so when we returned to the pier in Positano a new boat was waiting for us with our bags already on board. After Positano we went for lunch. We were taken to a beach restaurant a bit further down the coast. It was a great choice, great food and a lively atmosphere. Once back on board we decided to head to Capri. We wanted to see the blue Grotto which involves getting into a rowing boat in which you have to lie down and you are literally pulled through a tiny opening. Jonathan had a swim in the grotto which is indeed incredibly blue once you are in. To round off the day we stopped off Capri to have a swim before heading back to Sorrento. The guide was very good and the captain of both boats was very professional. We... Read more
